Reviews
"Amy Krouse Rosenthal has written a delightful, sanity-saving book from the front lines of motherhood. Her observations are at once laugh-out-funny and wonderfully reassuring."
-Dawn Raffel, deputy editor, Redbook magazine
"Reading this book is like having coffee with a funny friend who makes you laugh about all the exasperating and wonderful details of parenthood-bagels dropped cream-cheese-side-down...and papers that fly off the refrigerator door every time you open it. Most parents don't need experts to help them raise their kids, But they could use a humorist like Rosenthal."

I've been having a tough time reading your book. My wife grabbed
it as soon as I got home and she hasn't put it down. She keeps
talking about different passages from it and how funny it is.
You really nailed the whole parenthood thing. (At least from the
few pages that I've been able to read.)

A couple of days ago, I had a really tough day with both our kids.
By the time Scott came home I felt like pulling my hair out. He
brought your new book home that night. Once the kids were in bed,
I sat down with it and literally read it from cover to cover!!
It was so refreshing to feel the
connection to other moms. It is really terrific, and I can't wait
to share it with my friends!

When I read Amy Krouse Rosenthal's latest book, all I could think
is that it was written by someone who had completely embraced
parenthood and was laughing her way through it. Parenthood has
obviously returned Amy to the mentality of child-logic ; she is
able to apply all the symbols of childhood from the 60's and translate
them into today's equivalent. She also vividly remembers adult
life before children, and manages to stuff that perspective in
between the tiny, unclaimed crevices of her life as mother-of-three.

Your book is the perfect answer to all the super-parent, "I am
my kids Mom" crap that we have to put up with on a daily basis,
as we're surrounded by impossible standards that are the fantasies
we see on TV, in mags, on the web, etc. The only thing moms need
to keep from "losing it," as I
threaten to do at least once a week with my three kids, is the
knowledge that every other mom in the world has their own personal
version of the same life going on in their house. The cast is
slightly different and each cast member interprets the script
in their own way, but the fundamental plot is
consistent.
